What data we collect
GoGoWee collects and uses:
- Location data – approximate or precise position from your device when you turn on "Share my location" in a session.
- Display name – the name you choose to show to other participants in a session (optional, not tied to an account).
- Session code – the code that identifies the session you create or join; it is generated or entered by you.
Why we use this data
We use this data solely to provide real-time location sharing within a session: so you and other participants who have the same session code can see each other on the map while the session is active.
Who we share data with
Your location and display name are shared only with other participants in the same session (people who have joined using the same session code). We do not share your data with advertisers, analytics companies, or other third parties.
How long we keep data
Session data (including location and display names) is kept only while the session is active and is stored in memory on our servers. When the session ends or you leave, we do not retain that session data for longer than needed to operate the service. We do not build a long-term profile of your locations.
Security
We use HTTPS to encrypt data in transit between the app and our servers. We do not sell your data. Access to our systems is limited to what is needed to run and maintain the service.
Your rights and choices
You can:
- Stop sharing location – Turn off "Share my location" in the app at any time.
- Leave a session – Leave the session so your location is no longer shared with that group.
- End the session – If you are the host, you can end the session so no one in that session continues to receive updates.
No account is required to use GoGoWee; the data we process is limited to what is needed for the session you join or create.
